Forging History, Crafting Stories

War Eagle Forge Quality Blacksmith Hand Forged Creations

Welcome to
War Eagle Forge

Where history meets the present, and every piece tells a story worth sharing.

As a dedicated blacksmith with a passion for history, each piece I create is infused with a deep appreciation for the past. Inspired by the Civil War era, I named my forge after a famous eagle, symbolizing courage and strength during those tumultuous times. Just like the war eagle, my creations embody resilience, loyalty, and the spirit of standing strong in the face of adversity.

Every hammer strike and fold of metal in my forge is a nod to the craftsmanship and dedication of blacksmiths from centuries past. I take pride in crafting pieces that not only showcase the beauty of traditional blacksmithing techniques but also pay homage to the rich history that surrounds this ancient craft.

At the War Eagle Forge, I blend inspiration from historical traditions with a passion for creating functional pieces of art that elevate your everyday experiences. Whether you're looking for a unique centerpiece for your living room, a sturdy hook to hang your plants, or a personalized bottle opener for summer gatherings, each piece is meticulously crafted to combine beauty with functionality.

Old Abe War Eagle: The Story Behind the Name

With a deep appreciation for history, the name War Eagle Forge pays homage to "Old Abe the War Eagle," a significant figure from the American Civil War era. This renowned mascot from Wisconsin, named after President Abraham Lincoln, has a fascinating history that extends beyond the Civil War.

During WWII, "Old Abe" found new significance as the inspiration behind the nickname of the 101st Airborne Division, known as the "Screaming Eagles." This division, which originated as a reserve unit in Wisconsin shortly after World War I, adopted "Old Abe" as part of its insignia, a bald eagle depicted on a black shield.

Established in 1942, the 101st Airborne Division parachuted into Normandy, France, near Utah Beach on D-Day. Their intense combat with German forces solidified the "Screaming Eagles'" place in history.

Since 1921, the profile of "Old Abe's" head has been proudly displayed as the shoulder sleeve insignia of the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), symbolizing the bravery and spirit of those who serve.
